| What's Floating My Boat June 19, 2006 Trying to get back in the swing of things after yet another long layoff.
I'm going to start by laying out a few songs that are in my constant
rotation as well as some shows that I want to catch over the summer.
CMT Makes Me GAC January 21, 2006 For the past few months I have been taping On The Edge Of Country on
GAC (Great American Country). At the outset I was excited to see some
videos from the music that I actually like and not just Toby Keith threatening
to putting a boot in my ass and/or Big & Rich proving Houston Marchman
so, so right (son you gotta write for an 8th grade level divorced housewife
in Nashville). It didn't take me long to get annoyed with the show.
YIKES! January 6, 2006 I thought about going ahead and reaching for that vaunted one year
between postings mark, but something got in the way and stopped (or
started?) me. It was easy to fall out of the routine of spinning the
Texasbound.net yarns because there really never was a routine to begin
with. I'm not calling this a New Year's resolution, but I am going to
make a concerted effort to share the wealth in 2006.
The Sound of Music March 11, 2005 So to recap... Not that much awesome brand new stuff out there And people I want new records from... Will Kimbrough
Five Alive Feb. 4, 2005 Here is a constantly changing list of the top five shows, concerts,
etc. that I have made an appearance at over the past several years.
They are all special to me for one reason or another and I hope to convey
why. All but one has taken place in Texas. One I saw had a $100-a-ticket
cost. Another almost felt like attending a raucous church assembly.
And the one that clocks in at #1 had more than a touch of fate involved
in my being there. I'll start from the bottom and work to the top over
several posts. Here we go...
In The Beginning... Jan. 29, 2005 Texasbound.net has been around in one form or another for almost five
years now. Granted in the last two years there really has been nothing
done to the site due to the fact that my money requiring life got in
the way, but I digress. So here is a brief rundown of how things got
started and an introduction to the new form Texasbound.net is taking
on, bloggness. |
